“When gerrymandering nullifies the will of the people, insulated lawmakers can do whatever they please. Sometimes the consequences are life and death.” -- David Daley’s Editorial in The Boston Globe
Help us end gerrymandering and fight for free and fair elections »

Sula,

Partisan lawmakers often exploit the redistricting process to benefit their party by using nefarious tactics such as “packing” and “cracking.” But that’s not the only way.

With the help of new, advanced mapping technology, district distorters can manipulate the maps by drawing shapes that look fair but actually favor their party.

Map manipulators have even warned their party to be “smarter” when it comes to gerrymandering this redistricting cycle. We must be prepared to shine a light on their schemes.

If we fail to combat their attempts to cheat, we might see what redistricting expert David Daley said become a reality: “This is how free and fair elections crumble before our eyes” and “why your vote may not count after redistricting.”

All On The Line’s mapping team will also be utilizing new mapping tools to detect gerrymanders drawn by bad actors.

This technology and expertise are necessary to detect gerrymanders. It’s one of the most effective ways to determine which maps are unrepresentative. But it is also expensive.

The Census Bureau is about to release redistricting data that will kick map drawing in every state into high gear. Can we count on you to make a donation right now to help our team properly prepare and be ready to detect and combat gerrymandered maps?

Sula -- The Census Bureau is about to release the redistricting data needed for map drawers to start constructing the next decade of district lines in every state.

After the data drops, I expect Republican politicians will start executing their plans to officially pass manipulated legislative maps.

I need your help to prepare for this consequential moment. The All On The Line team is counting on Data Drop Donors to support their multi-pronged plan to engage and mobilize people in the redistricting process in a meaningful way.

Will you consider becoming a Data Drop Donor? Make a donation of any amount and it will help the All On The Line team combat the onslaught of gerrymandering schemes after the Census Bureau’s data drop.

When map manipulators try to distort the final maps, we must be prepared to shine a light on them. Right now, the All On The Line team is holding Redistricting U trainings in anticipation of this data drop. They want to make sure our movement is ready to continue the fight for fair maps by understanding grassroots advocacy tactics and the map drawing process itself.

Thousands of people across the country have already registered for our redistricting trainings and are fired up for this year’s redistricting process. I want to make sure that AOTL can continue empowering people until every map is finalized, and they need your help to ensure that’s possible.

Can I count on you to make a donation to become a Data Drop Donor? Your contribution will help mobilize and engage people in the redistricting process.
