USO Supporter, I've had the honor of visiting with over 5,500 of our brave service members in Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar and Afghanistan alongside the USO, and this much is certain: No superhero on the big screen can stack up against these real-life heroes in uniform. While it's not always possible for us to thank our troops in person, I know how much it means to this community of military supporters to send them love and gratitude from home — especially ahead of important moments like July 4. That's why I hope you'll join me in thanking our service members today:
Many of us are looking forward to a weekend filled with fireworks and barbeques with our family and friends, but we can't forget about the service members who will be thousands of miles away from their loved ones — deployed in dangerous conditions to make sure we can celebrate holidays like July 4 back home. I've seen firsthand how much messages of support and appreciation mean to our troops, and it only takes a moment to say thank you. Please, can I count on you to sign the thank-you card now for our service members in honor of their sacrifice? It's the least we can do for the heroes who selflessly do so much for us. Thank you for all you do to support our service members — today and every day. —Scarlett Johansson United Service Organizations, Inc. As we approach the Fourth of July and the celebration of our freedom, it could not be more important to thank the heroes fighting to keep our country safe and free.
They are serving in some of the world's most dangerous places and making immense sacrifices every single day — and we need your help to show them that patriotic Americans back home appreciate everything they do to protect the freedom we celebrate.
Missing Fourth of July fireworks, barbecues and parades with their loved ones is yet another sacrifice thousands of service members will make this holiday weekend. We can't change that, but we can make sure they know Americans back home are thinking of them — and on tough days, that makes a big difference.

It's always tough for our troops to be away from home during holidays. Thanks for taking the time to show them you care this Fourth of July.

“Supreme Court gives states green light to ban abortion, overturning Roe”
-- POLITICO, 6/24/22
Sula --
The radical conservative majority on the Supreme Court has officially stolen away the right to an abortion. The decision -- made possible by Trump’s three appointees -- now leaves this fundamental right up to state legislatures.
It should come as no surprise that gerrymandered state maps have led to state legislatures that have criminalized abortion. The same forces that gave Republicans power to appoint justices who control the Court have given them control of far, far too many states.
The right to bodily autonomy is fundamental, and one way to protect that right is by ensuring that state legislatures accurately reflect the will of the people. Our movement can play a role in protecting access to abortion by fighting to have state legislators elected in fair districts -- can you make a contribution and help power our campaign for fair maps and elections?

More than 60% of Americans believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. In 29 of 50 states, a clear majority of people hold this view.
And yet, experts predict that 26 states are likely to criminalize abortion. That shouldn’t happen if state legislatures actually represent the will of the people.
Fairer maps are an important way of ensuring that America’s broad, pro-Roe majority’s voice is heard. But this fight will be long and hard, and we need your help.
Make a contribution today and help us build a democracy that protects a woman’s right to choose, no matter which state she lives in.
Thanks,

Sula, have you seen the news out of Louisiana?
The United States Supreme Court has just blocked the implementation of a remedial map that would have allowed Black voters in Louisiana the ability to elect their candidate of choice in two congressional districts. Although nearly a third of the population is Black, Louisiana will only have one out of six majority black districts.
As if partisan gerrymandering wasn’t bad enough, conservative legislatures have gerrymandered maps that disenfranchise voters of color. Louisiana is just one example, Republicans are pushing their manipulated maps until they find the ruling they like in states across the country:
- In Louisiana, a district court judge ruled that these Republican maps violated the VRA and needed a second majority-black district. The U.S. Supreme Court reinstated it.
- In Alabama, a federal court struck down the Republican Legislature’s congressional map, saying that “black voters have less opportunity than other Alabamians to elect candidates of their choice." The Supreme Court reinstated this one too.
- In Florida, a circuit court judge ruled that Ron DeSantis’ congressional map violated the constitution because “it diminishes African Americans’ ability to elect candidates of their choice.” It was the Florida State Supreme Court that let this map slip through.

For decades, people of color have been excluded and alienated by the redistricting process. The Republican drawn maps in Louisiana continue this trend -- packing and cracking voters of color in districts to marginalize their political influence.
At All On The Line, we want fair and representative maps. Maps that do not value one political party over the other. Maps that do not isolate and marginalize specific communities. Maps that will lead to competitive elections. The Republican drawn maps in Louisiana do none of these things.
We need your continued support -- make a donation to support our fight against gerrymandered maps. What has happened in Louisiana cannot become a norm across the rest of the nation.
