Mooca Mia celebrates Mooca's 469th anniversary with a free festival of culture, gastronomy, and emotional memory

From August 15th to 17th, CEE Mooca transforms into a park of encounters, flavors, and traditions, featuring over 30 restaurants, a fair, pets, fashion, shows, and unique experiences like Bar nas Alturas.

Mooca, one of São Paulo's most iconic and beloved neighborhoods, turns 469 and receives a fitting gift: Mooca Mia, a free festival taking place at CEE Mooca from August 15th to 17th, with a program packed with art, gastronomy, culture, emotional memory, and experiences for the whole family. Created by Strepolia Eventos and the Mojo Institute, the festival invites the public to truly immerse themselves in Mooca's community spirit with over 70 exhibitors, a creative fair, cultural attractions, and an unmissable culinary curation that brings together the flavors that shape São Paulo's identity: from Italian cuisine to Peruvian spices, including acarajé, churros, pork knuckle, and Korean sweets. "We want to rediscover the sociocultural heritage of Mooca, a historic neighborhood that has never had events of this magnitude," says Fábio Paschoal, partner at Strepolia.

Gastronomy: the heart of Mooca Mia

One of the event's highlights is its food court, featuring 30 restaurants, which celebrates the diverse flavors of the city and neighborhood. Typical restaurants from Mooca and São Paulo offer a delicious blend of immigrant cuisine and traditional street food recipes. Cuisine for all tastes, such as Acarajé da Barra featuring Bahian cuisine, Crepe Mania with crepes and broths, Colombian delicacies, potato cones, Mexican food, artisanal burgers, Meisbein (the traditional pork knuckle), skewers, Fay.n.go with its Peruvian cuisine, sauces and preserves, homemade cakes (bolo de rolo), artisanal churros, açaí, Minas Gerais cheese bread, Italian pasta, artisanal ice cream, and Bubble Lovers with bubble tea.

To make the event even more enjoyable, there will also be a selection of artisanal producers bringing delicacies such as honey, jams, wines, breads, sausages, cold cuts, and charcuterie.

A São Paulo made of blends

Mooca Mia celebrates the city made of grandmother's hugs, cooking on the stove, the smell of fresh bread, and laughter at the gate. Inspired by the spirit of Social Fitness and the

Slow São Paulo movement, the event invites the public to slow down, live in the present, and celebrate the stories that unite generations.

The festival revives the immigrant spirit of Mooca—a neighborhood that welcomed more than 2.5 million immigrants of 70 nationalities since the 19th century. With a nostalgic and vibrant atmosphere, the event brings together music, memory, humor, art, a fair, street culture, and a space that values coexistence and diversity.

Exhibitors: Culture, Memory, and Style

Another must-see at Mooca Mia is its charming Traditional Bazaar, which brings together thrift stores and creative entrepreneurs with lovingly curated experiences. It features vintage clothing, classic accessories, shoes, hats, art, design, and much more—all with that nostalgic touch that evokes São Paulo of yesteryear. In addition to thrift stores and specialty shops, with clothes, hats, and decorative items, nostalgia completes the scene with organ grinder, street vendors, shoe shiners, and retro barber shops, which help create this true experience of cultural and emotional recovery.

Highlight - Bar nas Alturas: breathtaking view

Among the most popular experiences Among the unusual options is the Bar nas Alturas, a platform suspended by a crane 40 meters high, where groups of up to 14 people enjoy a drink prepared live by a bartender. A unique attraction, perfect for those seeking innovation and adrenaline safely.
