In the coming weeks, state Democrats are facing all-important special elections in key states like Florida, Georgia, and Iowa. Winning these races is vital to protecting and expanding our Democratic power in the states: Florida Democrats are working to protect two blue seats from MAGA Republicans.
In Georgia, we could FLIP a key seat in the state Senate.
In Iowa, we could BREAK the GOP supermajority in the state Senate.
We’re just weeks away from the next critical special election, and Democrats need all hands on deck. Can we count on you to chip in $7 to boost state Democrats to victory in states like Florida, Georgia, Iowa nationwide? If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately. |
Special elections are often overlooked and underfunded, but they’re a huge part of our work to gain Democratic power in state legislatures. They require attention, time, and money just like races in November. Our candidates run for office to make a difference in their communities – fighting to lower costs, fund education, and expand access to health care. Our Republican opponents are more interested in spreading the MAGA agenda. Electing Democrats to state legislatures nationwide is more important than ever. Will you chip in $7 right now to help fuel our movement to elect state Dems? Thanks, Team DLCC

Launch of the BDO Jaraguá Theater with a Special Show by Ney Matogrosso.
Today, São Paulo hosted a remarkable event: the launch of the BDO Jaraguá Theater, held at the iconic Hotel Jaraguá, located in the heart of the city center. This hotel, considered a true symbol of São Paulo's history and culture, celebrated its 71 years of tradition, having hosted world-renowned names such as Queen Elizabeth II, Gina Lollobrigida, the Italian diva of the 1950s and 1960s, Edith Piaf, Janio Quadros, Marta Rocha, and other icons who marked different eras. The Hotel Jaraguá is a true piece of history, with its giant panels and works by great artists such as Di Cavalcanti and Clóvis Graciano adorning its walls, bringing even more charm and meaning to today's event. The partnership between Brazil and culture, represented by the BDO Jaraguá Theater, was born from the visionary Raul Correia da Silva, BDO' President and Culture Director at Sport Club Corinthians. Raul is a figure ahead of his time, passionate about Brazilian popular music (MPB) and promoting initiatives that value national culture. The theater's launch was celebrated with an unprecedented performance by Ney Mato Grosso on piano, a unique moment that featured special guests such as Zeca Baleiro, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Rita Cadillac, actor Cássio Scapin, and Nino do Castelo (Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum), gallery owner Verinha Havir, and Edinho Oliveira (Viva o Centro). The occasion reinforces the commitment to transforming downtown São Paulo into a vibrant cultural, social, and artistic hub, contributing to the cultural evolution of the heart of the city. The BDO Jaraguá Theater is more than a new performance venue; it is a symbol of resilience, innovation, and hope in a downtown area pulsating with new cultural energies. This milestone demonstrates that initiatives like this are driving a true revitalization of downtown São Paulo, once again making it a space for artistic expression, history, and social interaction. Long live downtown, long live Brazilian culture!
