Missouri is on track to become one of the most outrageously gerrymandered states in the nation — but it’s not a done deal.

That’s because Missouri voters can still veto the bill through a referendum. It’s a failsafe that can prevent politicians from grabbing unearned power or going against the will of the people. And it’s on the table as a way to stop the new gerrymander that’s passed the legislature.

While our affiliate works on blocking Missouri’s new maps in court, the All On The Line campaign is working alongside Missouri partners. Hundreds of volunteers have already stepped up to gather petition signatures. If every single one of us steps up, we can stop the gerrymandered maps from taking effect in the 2026 elections.

To keep up the fight in Missouri and across the country, we’re counting on grassroots supporters like you to continue powering this work. Will you make a contribution today to help stop gerrymandering and fight for fair maps?

Attorney General Eric Holder put it plainly when he applauded California for putting  redistricting on the ballot this November: Leaders have got to “let the damn voters decide.”

But some politicians are so afraid of losing power that they want to stop certain voters from deciding who represents them in the halls of power.

We see it with the brazen new gerrymanders in Texas and Missouri. We see it with voter-suppression legislation like the SAVE Act. And we’re going to keep pushing back.

Think of how powerful it would be if Missourians used direct democracy to reject a gerrymander that’s designed to silence Missourians’ voices. And it would be a strong reminder that the will of the people is still the backbone of our democracy.

But it’s going to take sustained grassroots organizing to get this referendum on the ballot and over the finish line. And with more states trying to follow in the footsteps of Texas and Missouri’s extreme gerrymanders, we have to be ready to keep fighting for fair maps nationwide.

Please make a contribution of any amount to fuel our pro-democracy work and help make sure voters can make their voices heard.

Thank you,

The team at All On The Line

Since Republicans rigged the maps in Texas, Democratic governors have vowed to work together with state legislative majorities to counter the GOP's redistricting power grab.

Here are three things you need to know about upcoming special elections in Mississippi:

  1. On November 4th, Democrats have new opportunities to build power in Mississippi’s state legislature, a GOP stronghold, with newly drawn seats on the ballot.
  2. The DLCC announced five Spotlight candidates running strong campaigns to challenge the far-right’s dominance – among them, a former nurse, a farmer, and the first Black mayor of the city of Hattiesburg.
  3. If Democrats are successful on Election Day, we could break the Republican supermajority in the Mississippi Senate.

Can you own a piece of our work by chipping in $7 to help elect state Democrats in places like Mississippi nationwide?
