FIRST: The Washington Post and CBS News reported that Ginni Thomas, wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, urged the Trump White House to overturn the results of the 2020 election!
SO: Senator Amy Klobuchar is calling on Justice Thomas to recuse himself from any cases related to the 2020 election – calling it a “textbook case” of a conflict of interest.
BUT: Republicans are defending Justice Thomas, claiming there’s no need for recusal!
The Supreme Court does not have any formal ethics rules regarding when a Justice should recuse themselves, so we’re polling your local Democrats to see where they stand on Justice Thomas’s potential conflict of interest.
Can you be one of 100 local Democrats to take our 1-click poll? >>
This is really serious. Ginni Thomas’ texts to Trump’s chief of staff clearly show her urging the White House to overturn the 2020 election results.
And right now, some insurrectionists and Trump cronies involved in the events of January 6th are in ongoing legal battles across the country – legal battles that could advance to the Supreme Court!
But there is no ethics requirement for when Supreme Court Justices should recuse themselves, so we need your input today.
Don’t delay, will you be one of the first 100 local Democrats Democrats to take our poll? >>

THEN: GOP lawmakers across the country started passing new abortion bans to strip away our rights.
NOW: Justice Sonia Sotomayor is speaking out to protect reproductive rights -- but we're falling short of the signature goal on our MASSIVE Democratic petition to defend Roe!

| Sula – I want to update you on the situation in Louisiana, one of the last states to adopt congressional maps: - First, legislative Republicans passed a gerrymandered map that ignored the voices of Black Louisianans.
- Then, Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards – whose election we supported – vetoed the map!
- But a couple of weeks ago, Republicans in the legislature overrode the veto.
This isn’t over. Voters are challenging the Louisiana map in court under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, noting that while African Americans make up 33% of Louisiana’s population, only one of the six districts drawn by Republicans – or 17% – is majority-Black. It’s part of a pattern of gerrymandering that’s been repeated state after state. And frankly, if we want to fight against unfair maps and ensure that everyone has a voice in our politics, we’re going to need your help.
Will you rush a donation to help us keep up the fight for fairness in redistricting? – Ben
