BREAKING:
House Republicans are planning to vote on the SAVE Act —  an extreme, anti-voter bill that would disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.

Rush a donation to All On The Line to help protect voting rights from brazen attacks.

Hi Sula,

There’s a lot going on right now, but the bill that is expected to be heard on the floor in the House needs the full attention of anyone who cares about the future of our democracy.

Despite its name, the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility” (SAVE) Act would do absolutely nothing to make our elections safer. Instead, it would put up barriers designed to prevent millions of eligible voters from casting their ballot.

It’s the culmination of constant lies about our elections, claiming rampant fraud without a shred of evidence — all to justify and pass a radical political agenda to restrict voting and weaken democracy as we know it.

This is a pivotal moment for voting rights — and we cannot afford to stand idly by as a guiding principle of American government is dismantled.

We need a strong, defiant response right now. Rush a donation to All On The Line today to fight back against undemocratic, unnecessary, and un-American efforts like the SAVE Act.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Because you’re a member of this grassroots team, I know you agree that our democracy works best when all of us have an equal say in the decisions that shape our future.

The SAVE Act is a direct effort to undo that ideal. It would require all eligible Americans to provide proof of citizenship by presenting documents like a passport or birth certificate when registering to vote. This would be on top of voter ID laws that a majority of states already have in place.

What’s more, the SAVE Act would:

  • Upend online voter registration, a practice in 42 states;
  • Make it impossible for Americans to register to vote by mail; and
  • Put an end to many voter registration drives nationwide.

If passed, these changes would disproportionately impact military voters, rural voters, tribal citizens, survivors of natural disasters, working-class Americans, and the tens of millions of married women who have changed their names. About half of American citizens — nearly 150 million citizens — do not have a passport, and elderly Americans are one of the demographics least likely to have one.

The SAVE Act is just the latest example of extreme, partisan efforts to make voting more difficult for citizens, all hidden behind a thin veil of disinformation and false claims of widespread voter fraud.

Can we count on you to make a donation to All On The Line to hold the line against anti-democratic attacks like this?

All the best,

Jacob Carrel
Deputy Director of Policy

Listen — Donald Trump is on a mission to completely DESTROY our public education system and erase Black history.

CNN Headline: "Trump says he wants the Department of Education closed immediately"

This should be a wake up call for Democrats! We need 25,000 signatures to STOP Trump from abolishing the Department of Education and protect Black History. Please sign right away >>

If we don’t show undeniable solidarity to PROTECT the Department of Education, Trump will execute his Project 2025 agenda tenfold:

❌ He’ll ban even more books and censor classrooms across the country.

❌ He’ll open the floodgates for discrimination and attacks towards Black and LGBTQ+ students.

❌ He’ll BLOCK Black history — like slavery and Jim Crow — from being taught in schools.

❌ And all he needs is approval from the MAGA controlled House and Senate to make this happen!

We cannot allow Trump and his racist Republicans to demolish public education and erase Black history. So we need every person reading this email to sign below.

50,000 SIGNATURES NEEDED: Stop Trump from abolishing the Department of Education and erasing Black history in our schools >>

The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Dara Khosrowshahi as the American recipient of the 2025 Person of the Year Awards.
For the past 53 years, the Chamber has honored as “Person of the Year” two prominent leaders, one Brazilian and one American, who have been instrumental in forging closer ties and enhancing the relationship between Brazil and the United States. The Brazilian honoree is Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of Prosus, CEO of Naspers, Founder of Movile Group, and Chairman of the Board at iFood.

Dara Khosrowshahi:
Dara Khosrowshahi is CEO of the multinational transportation company Uber Technologies, Inc. (market cap: $162.29 billion), where he manages the company’s business in more than 70 countries, including Brazil. Previously, he served as CEO of Expedia (market cap: $25.32 billion), one of the world’s largest online travel companies, and before that, as CFO of IAC Travel, a division of IAC (which purchased Expedia in 2002 and spun it off in 2005).
A seasoned executive with a background in engineering and finance, Mr. Khosrowshahi was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States with his family during the Iran-Iraq War, eventually moving to Tarrytown, NY. In 1987, he graduated from the Hackley School, a private preparatory school in Tarrytown – and in 1991, earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Brown University.
In 1991, Mr. Khosrowshahi joined investment bank Allen & Company as an analyst, later serving as Vice President. In 1998, he joined the company Barry Diller, first at USA Networks as Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning and then President, and later at IAC as CFO, where he was instrumental in the expansion of IAC’s portfolio of travel brands. Following IAC’s purchase of Expedia in 2001, Mr. Khosrowshahi, in 2005, was appointed CEO of Expedia. He oversaw a number of acquisitions that bolstered Expedia’s offerings and aggressively invested in mobile, which now accounts for more than half of Expedia’s traffic. During his tenure, Expedia acquired Travelocity, Orbitz, and HomeAway; expanded its presence to more than 60 countries; more than doubled its pre-tax earnings; and more than quadrupled its hotel and other travel bookings.
In August 2017, Mr. Khosrowshahi was appointed CEO of Uber, which provides ride-hailing, courier, food delivery, and freight transport services in over 10,000 cities across the globe. In May 2019, he led Uber in its IPO. His exemplary leadership operating the largest ridesharing company worldwide, with over 150 million monthly active users and 6 million active drivers and couriers, has revolutionized the global technology landscape and demonstrates his profound commitment to innovation. His push to transform Uber into a zero-emission and low-packaging-waste mobility platform by incorporating electric vehicles and transitioning to reusable, recyclable, and compostable packaging reflects his dedication to sustainable development. Under Mr. Khosrowshahi’s direction, Uber partners with NGOs, advocacy groups, and environmental justice organizations to fight climate change and expedite a clean and equitable energy transition. Through his deep operational experience and exceptional leadership, Uber leverages transportation technologies to improve everyday lives, with ESG always at the forefront.
Mr. Khosrowshahi serves on the Board of Directors of Expedia and Catalyst.org, and previously served on the Board of Directors of The New York Times Company. He is a passionate advocate for refugees in crisis around the world. In June 2013, he received the “Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year Award” from Ernst & Young.
The nomination of Mr. Khosrowshahi as 2025 Person of the Year was widely proposed by Chamber members and unanimously approved by our Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of a broad spectrum of leading Brazilian and U.S. firms that are active in both countries.
The Board’s selection of Mr. Khosrowshahi recognizes his exemplary entrepreneurship in operating world-class technologies that have revolutionized the global tech landscape and demonstrates his profound commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the environment, factors that coincide with the values promoted by the Chamber.
Mr. Khosrowshahi will be honored at the 2025 Person of the Year Awards Gala Dinner, to take place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, on Wednesday, May 14th. Over 1,000 leaders from the international business, financial, and diplomatic communities have convened in New York City each year at this traditional gala to pay tribute to the honorees.
