Military dogs have been saving lives and serving our nation faithfully for decades.

That’s why it is so important that we celebrate and support our brave military working dogs and their handlers every year in honor of K-9 Veterans Day. And this year, a generous group of USO donors is MATCHING* all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $75,000, through March 13, toward our critical K-9 Veterans Day email and text message fundraising goal.

Military working dogs have a long and illustrious history of serving alongside service members. During World War II, patriotic Americans donated approximately 20,000 healthy and capable dogs to join the World War II war effort. These furry heroes helped secure an Allied victory — and military dogs have bravely served our military ever since.

Our K-9 teams never hesitate to risk their lives to protect their fellow service members and defend our country. That’s why we shouldn’t hesitate when it’s our turn to support them, especially in honor of K-9 Veterans Day.
